magic, mind reading, and divination

You’ve looked through the programs on this website and thought, “these are all about something. Does this guy just do, you know, magic?”

Yes.

No.

Sort of.

Yes, I do magic shows, but they are about something.

Think of it this way. When a professional dancer performs a rehearsed, directed show, that show is about something. A painting is not just pigment; it is about something.

If a magician asks you if you want to see a card trick and it’s just a card trick and isn’t about something bigger, what you have seen is a display of skill, not a show. That skill might be mindboggling and astounding and stay with you for a long time, but if there isn’t context and it isn’t about something, really, it’s just a card trick.

This show right here, the one you are reading about, is a magic show about something.

what is this show?

This is a magical mind reading show for adults.

Attendees participate in mind reading and divination techniques and experiments while learning a bit about historical divination techniques and how to use them at home.

This magical program is designed for an adult sensibility, is easy to host, and provides a fun, spooky experience that will stay with attendees.

Tell me more about the magic

I perform a series of effects where I reveal information that I could not have access to.

  • Names, dates, and items that are meaningful to audience members

  • ESP testing

  • Audience members read each other’s minds

  • Methods of divination are explained and used on audience members (tarot cards, pendulums, runes)

  • Predictions made far in advance come true

  • And more

  • The one-hour version is perfect for a library or public gathering

  • For a private party in your home you pick the one, two, or three hour version (two or three hours will ensure that all of your guests can have a personal reading or effect)

  • An interactive performance that can involve dozens of audience members

  • Historical information and demonstrations of divination methods and techniques that have been used for centuries

  • Easy setup and takedown. No tech requirements other than a table and chairs.

To be clear, I am not a medium. I cannot deliver messages from the beyond.

What does “adult sensibilities” mean?

Many programs aim to be everything to everyone.

stories and events for adults suffer. This, and other programs I offer, are emotionally complex and deal with themes that can be challenging for younger audience members to relate to.

"Magic is not tricks. Tricks in themselves are not more than puzzles. A trick becomes a mystery, a thing of enjoyment to the beholder, only in proportion to the degree of dramatic interest with which it is endowed by its exhibitor."
