Dinosaur Safari

A 2026 Summer Reading Program tie-in.

Young readers go on a magical archeological adventure with a focus on dinosaurs connected to New England.

I portray a character who thinks that he knows a lot about dinosaurs (but probably doesn’t).

After making some obvious mistakes, I use books, magic, and story to learn with the group.

  • Fun, silly, and magical

  • Well-researched and factually accurate

  • Books available for checkout are featured in the program

  • I work with your library to help attendees sign up for a library card (depending on local policies)

What happens in the program?

  • After proclaiming myself to be a dinosaur expert, I confuse a Pokemon for a dinosaur and decide that it’s time to learn

  • Interactive stories and activities about dino discoveries

  • Model the behavior of learning and show that mistakes are okay

  • I give out locations of dino discoveries in New England that you can visit
